Incremental upgradeLast year, the MacBook Air M4 standardized the minimum starting RAM at 16GB, and that stays the same this year, bringing the MacBook Air a little closer to the Pro in terms of hardware and capabilities. It also features the same 18-hour battery life and comes in the same colorways: Silver, Sky Blue, Starlight, and Midnight.
In the original code, our sprites only had to be configured once, and we did it at program start. Sprite data mostly fits neatly into a few contiguous ranges (X-Y coordinates, colors, and patterns) and it just copied values into place out of tables. We now have to revisit our design so that we can efficiently update everything as needed.
